W dniach 12 - 15 wrzesnia 2001 r. odbedzie sie w Warszawie 60 Jubileuszowy Zjazd Towarzystwa Chirurgów Polskich.
Poniewaz bedzie to 60 Zjazd i zarazem I w nowym stuleciu i nowym tysiacleciu Komitet Organizacyjny pragnie mu nadac wyjatkowo uroczysty charakter.
Do udzialu w obradach zaprosilismy nie tylko czlonków Towarzystwa Chirurgów Polskich, ale takze innych Towarzystw, z którymi mamy wspólne korzenie. Obok chirurgów ogólnych, angio-, kardio- i torakochirurgów w obradach wezma udzial anestezjolodzy, ginekolodzy, laryngolodzy, neurolodzy, okulisci, ortopedzi, urolodzy, chirurdzy dzieciecy, onkologiczni, plastyczni i szczekowi oraz historycy medycyny. Do uczestnictwa zapraszamy równiez gosci z zagranicy, szczególnie zas chirurgów polskiego pochodzenia mieszkajacych poza ojczyzna.
Celem Zjazdu jest podsumowanie osiagniec chirurgii polskiej w XX wieku, omówienie stanu obecnego i wytyczenie perspektyw na przyszlosc.
Glównymi tematami beda mnogie obrazenia ciala, chirurgia miniinwazyjna, przeszczepianie narzadów, oraz historia chirurgii polskiej.

From September 12 to 15, 2001, the Association of Polish Surgeons will hold its 60th Jubilee Congress in Warsaw.
The Organising Committee intends to make it a special festive occasion since it is going to be the sixtieth Congress of the Association and the first one in the new century and millennium as well. We have invited to attend its deliberations not only the members of the Association of Polish Surgeons, but also of other Societies with which we have common roots. Therefore it will be attended by general, angio, cardio- and thoracosurgeons and also by our colleagues representing other specialties, such as anaesthesiologists, gynaecologists, laryngologists, ophtalmologists, orthopaedists, urologists, paediatric-, onco-, plastic- and dental surgeons and by historians of medicine as well. Guests from all over the world and especially surgeons of Polish origin living abroad will also be invited to attend the Congress.
The purpose of the Congress will be to discuss the achievements of Polish surgery in the twentieth century, its present state and future development. The following subjects will be covered: multiple accidental trauma, minimal invasive surgery, organ transplantation and history of Polish surgery. Eminent specialists in these fields from Poland and other countries will deliver lectures. Satellite symposia, round table discussions, workshops and poster sessions are also on the agenda. Furthermore, the Congress programme will provide for such social events as a special concert on the night of the opening day of he Congress, a picnic, theatre performances, Warsaw sightseeing tours etc.
On behalf of the General Board of Association of Polish Surgeons, of the Organising Committee and myself I have the great honour to invite all those interested in surgery to attend in Warsaw the 60th Jubilee Congress of our Association which, at the same time, will be the Congress of all Polish surgeons.
I am convinced that our Jubilee Congress will be to all its distinguished participants, representing all relevant specialties, a forum for an open discussion and exchange of views.
I also believe that the well known Warsaw hospitality and the numerous events to be provided on this occasion will contribute to the establishing of friendly social contacts and will bring to all its participants satisfaction and fond memories.
I warmly invite you to take part in this very important scientific and social event of the Polish surgeons.
